J Watson WD 155
The J Watson & Co were a subsidiary of the Suzuki workshops in Hamamatsu Japan during the 1970's. This particular guitar was built in either 1973 which predates the Lawsuit era or 1978 which puts it right in the middle period when the Lawyers got involved
This has a solid spruce (probably sitka) top with the sides and back made from a mahogany / Indian Rosewood combined with a maple insert. The action is on the high side and could do with changing the top nut, the saddle has been recently replaced
Nevertheless it sounds fine and makes it make a great gigging guitar that could easily be mistaken for a genuine Martin D35 from the period
The guitar has had the electronics removed that once made this guitar electro acoustic and the tone/volume controls have been plugged. The guitar will be restrung or supplied with a new set of Ernie Ball Earthwood 12's
