The Covid-19 pandemic changed everything for everybody. The long periods when you were unable to leave the house were a very depressing prospect and if it hadn't been for my guitars I may not be here today. I am not a great guitarist but I do know how to strum along with anything but it occurred to me that I owned 7 or eight guitars and they were wasted on me, so I decided to sell off my collection on Facebook Marketplace. A great place to buy and sell stuff locally during a pandemic by the way. What I discovered is I could use the marketplace platform as a kind of swap shop and that is what archtops.co.uk has become.

I'm the wrong side of 60 and my aspirations of becoming a rock and roll superstar have somewhat diminished but there had always been a guitar (or pedal or amp) that I never had the chance to own or even try out in many instances. So the idea of archtops.co.uk arrived.

WHAT IS ARCHTOPS?

I will buy your guitars on the basis that I will try them out for a couple of weeks and then sell them and providing I do not lose money on the deal I am happy. If I don't sell the guitar, I will be just as happy keeping it. It isn't the greatest business model but it will do for me. I have made conditional sales that if the buyer decides to sell the instrument on, I will buy it back less a small admin fee. Everybody is happy
